PHYSICAL. Illusion is your typical red wolf at first glance, if a bit on the small side. Her frame is slender with a relatively healthy look. Her pelt is softer than average and sheds more frequently, thinning out in the summer and becoming thicker during the winter- but only slightly. Her tail is bushier than the typical red wolf, showing off her domestic heritage. Illusion's face is built narrow with a long snout and sharp cheekbones.
Her undercoat formed a dark cape along her back, which reaches around to her shoulders but fades at the base of her neck. Hints of brown are dappled throughout her entire pelt, darker in the nape and along her ears. A dark stripe runs down the entirety of her spine, ending at the white tip of her tail. Her eyes a pale blue and expression, showing off her emotions even against her will at times. Three narrow scars run across the bridge of her snout- the product of a run-in with a cougar in her youth.
Despite her wolfish appearance, Illusion carries herself more like a dog. She expresses herself flamboyantly and because of this, often comes off to have a childish demeanor.

PERSONALITY. Illusion may display herself as a goofy dog, but in truth she's an intelligent and creative thinker and doer. She rarely procrastinates to get the job done and respects athority to a healthy degree. She puts in real effort to work well with others (though sometimes it just doesn't work out that way) and rarely refuses to cooporate when things need to get done. Her creative and sharp mind grants her the ability to remember a great many stories and facts that others would normally forget. She thrives to learn as much as she can, all while having fun and putting an effort into improving her living standards and that of those around her. Sometimes, her heroics can get her into trouble- a sharp mind doesn't always mean an able body, after all.
Despite all of her good intentions, Illusion is far from perfect. Her short temper stems from a long line of angry relatives, giving her a sharp tongue and savage bite to go along with that sharp mind and creative spark. She often leaps without looking, sending her head-first into trouble one multiple occasions. She's also not the most accepting of wolves, once you really get to know her. Often times, friends are lost because of her strict values- brawns are only as good as the brains using them, for example. She understands that ignorance is bliss, but ignorance is no better than stupidity- especially in a world full of chaos and fear. Being unprepared is a sign of weakness where strength is valued above all else, be it mental or physical. Team work is important and when her critical values aren't met, she can easily become frustrated or aggrivated, depending on the situation. This could easily lead to that short temper going off- a girl like her should come with a warning; unstable explosives or something like that.
She's a very proud creature. She keeps herself primmed and preened as much as she can and often looks down on those without the same attention spent on themselves. A softer, more submissive side of her personality shows, however, when the sky darkens and the thunder rolls in. She dislikes fighting, but understands that it happens- mind you, if she gets involved, fear takes over like any cornered animal. Survival becomes top priority, even if her life isn't really threatened. The same goes for cougars- if she runs into one of these big cats, it's game over- she won't be sticking around.
MOTHER. Cinnamon, deceased.
FATHER. Astor, deceased.
SIBLINGS. Loki, living.
HISTORY. She was born into a nomadic pack, a mixture of different breeds all bunched together into one thick mess of canines. They traveled constantly, so when the time came for her birth, her parents settled where they were and allowed the rest of the pack to move on without them- they'd catch up later.
Her mother, a red wolf, was a beautiful creature. Her father, an Australian Kelpie Dog, was an interesting scholar. She was born beside a single brother, a chocolate and black mix named Loki. Being the second born and a surprise to her parents, she was named Illusion. As soon as the two pups were old enough, the small family set off to catch up with the pack, proud to have two healthy children to add to the ranks.
Except, they wouldn't make it. They were resting near a mountain's base when it happened. Illusion and Loki had wandered off together, to explore their temporary territory as much as they could before leaving the next day. They found a cave leading into the ground, scented with a dark, musky smell all around it. Curious and ignorant of the danger, Illusion opted to go in first. She'd only managed to shimmy her way a few feet into the cave when the occupant returned home, displeased with the sudden visitors.
A cougar. Loki turned tail and ran back to where they'd left their parents. Illusion tried to do the same but the cougar blocked her path, striking her in the face after much chase and dodge from the pup. The sudden pain and bleeding froze Illusion to the spot, her shock too great to overcome. Just as the cougar was coming in for the kill, however, her parents came running to her rescue, Loki a safe distance behind.
The resulting fight was one the pup would never forget. Though her parents fought bravely, their small size and tired bodies weren't enough to kill the cat. Illusion and Loki managed to escape it, but the cougar ate well that night, feasting on the very canines she'd called her parents. The pups left the cougar's den far behind, too afraid to return. By the next morning, they were lost.
Somehow the two pups managed to pull through. Loki aged into a fine young adult and with his help, so did Illusion. The two continued to travel together until the sickness reared its ugly head to them. All around them, dogs and wolves were suddenly dropping like flies. They'd wandered back to the place of their birth... only to discover that the sickness had plagued it heavily in the time they'd been away. An unfortunate argument about where to go next split the siblings apart. Loki remained on the mainland. Illusion set out to find the paradise they'd heard so much about in their travels. What she'd end up finding there would be far from her expectations- unfortunate, really.
