GENERAL
x - First of all - welcome to Clash! We are a literate + fantasy creature RP. Clash was actually created in 2011 and was quite popular for a year or two, but it fell into inactivity. I'm here to breathe life back into this site and I'm glad you're here to help.
x - Before joining, please think about how active you are going to be. There are monthly activity checks that will become a problem for you if you aren't on enough to see & reply to them. Coming online once a week is acceptable - but coming online once a month is not. The only way to keep Clash running is to try to be as active as possible.
x - While we have no word limit - we are a literate site and encourage members to be as descriptive as possible. One or two sentence posts are not acceptable, please aim for at least one good paragraph or more. There are awards for posting a certain amounts of words! Please keep proper spelling and grammar in mind when posting as we'd all value that.
x - Since this is a one character per account type of forum, please join using only the name of your character - in plain and simple letters. No funky symbols or anything like that please. At the moment we have a 3 character per player limit.
x - The avatar size limit is 150 x 150 px - you can use a GIF if you want to. You will notice that in the extra profile options there is an option called 'Big Avatar 250x350' - this is for the 250 x 350 px image in your mini profile and must be of your character, unless it's your OOC account. Please upload your images via a different site (TinyPic or Photobucket) and then paste the direct link in their respective boxes. (Proboards uploader resizes images automatically and it looks odd.)
APPLICATION
x - There is only one template for the applications - and it's pretty easy to use. Please stick to it and don't edit it in any way. However - you are free to add extra information if you'd like, as long as it fits with the layout.
x - Please do not post incomplete or 'wip' applications. If you are not on your own computer and are unable to save the file, simply PM it to yourself.
x - In the subject line of your application please put your characters name in CAPITAL letters. That is all. Nothing else - JUST the name.
x - Characters can only be created from one year of age and older.
x - To see a list of species allowed - please click here. While we are a fantasy RPG - we try to keep characters as realistic in appearance as possible, so please stick to the actual heights, weights and norms of your chosen species.
x - You need to wait for you application to be accepted before you can make any IC posts. Prior to acceptance, you are only allowed to post in IC boards. Upon acception a staff member will also update your character's stats with the basic species statistics.
x - You can choose whether your creature is infected or not (as well as their mutation) or you could choose to participate in the random disease selection, which happens bi-monthly (a select amount of random characters will be infected and a staff member will PM the player about this event, as well as which mutation their character will receive.).
OOC
x - Please try to be a decent human being when it comes to OOC matters. I have a problem with bullies - so if I, or anyone else, catches you bullying another player in any way it's pretty much going to be an instant ban. Everyone is welcome here, and we are all accepting of each other. I don't care if you're an asexual purple unicorn, and neither should anyone else. Basically, we have a no discrimination policy.
x - Proper spelling and grammar is always nice to see. Both IC and OOC.
x - As fun as the OOC side of Clash can be - don't get lost in it. Always remember that this is an RPG, and that your characters are there to be played.
IC
x - While we are a fantasy board - we are still somewhat realistic. For example - characters can't fly, there are no neon pink animals wandering around and nobody (but the birds) walks on two legs.
x - No powerplaying. When role-playing, do not play someone else's character. You can NOT dictate their actions - only they can. If it’s something small like ‘John opened the door and once Susan stepped through, he closed it behind her’ then that’s okay with me. But once it starts getting overboard I will issue the perpetrator a warning.
x - No godmoding. Nobody has an invincible character - or one that can miraculously dodge every attach thrown their way.
x - No metagaming. This basically means that unless your character is a Seer or a Dreamwalker - they can't know things that would be impossible to know without prior IC knowledge. For example, Steven can't just know that Barbara has a fear of snakes without being told so by Barbara in a previous post. At the same time - Steven also can't read Barbara's mind or know what she is thinking without actually being told.
x - No retconning. (This is a form of godmoding - where a character alters or erases past events for their benefit.)
x - Violence, swearing etc is allowed. But nothing sexual is allowed - not even innuendo. This violates the Proboards TOS and will get Clash thrown into the pit of suspended forums.
x - You've probably noticed that there is a point system in Clash. You get 5 points per post, and there are various other ways to earn points. With these points you can upgrade your character's stats, level them up, or buy rare items in this board.
LEVELS, CLASSES AND STATS
x - When a staff member accepts your character application they will also edit your profile and assign it a class and level as well as base stats. Only staff can edit levels and stats.
x - There are 10 character levels at the moment. Should the need arise we will increase the level limit to 15. Most characters are awarded level 1 upon acceptation - unless it specifically states in your bio history that your character has had the disease for longer than a year, in which case your profile will be awarded level 2 or 3. These are the highest levels available for characters first joining Clash.
x - The current mutation classes are Uninfected, Purist, Earth Elemental, Fire Elemental, Water Elemental, Dreamwalker, Healer and Mage. They each have their own abilities which change and develop as they progress in levels. To see these level-related abilities please click here.
x - You can upgrade your base stats as well as your level by trading your points in this board. You can also learn more about earning points in this board.
RPG RATING
x - Swearing is generally permitted, with some limitations.
x - No sexual content or innuendo permitted.
x - Explicit violence is permitted.
