` let me be your bloody VALENTINE Valentine hated it down here, how the hell had she ended up in such a dire situation. It wasn't that she was afraid of the unending darkness, or the eerie echo of her breath against the freezing silence, no it was more the fact that caves were a perfect hiding place for her bitter enemy; the wolf. It was these dim, dingy places that attracted the disgusting little scavengers. She loathed the fanged beasts more than the company of a prissy little filly, which was certainly saying something. It was the way their calculating unflinching eyes stared her the way no equine could, she hated their challenging growl and the way their hackles rose aggressively. How dare they assume she was just another weak victim for them to sink their canines into! The only thing they were good for was letting her hooves smash open their horrible little skulls.
She stalked through the darkness angrily, whipping her long smokey tail across her hocks in a display of frustration. Despite her dark personality Valentine was never one to hide in the shadows, she preferred to flaunt her intelligence and beauty in the light. Sneaking around from one dreary place to another was another thing wolves seemed to do, and something she would steer well clear of. So you see, she hadn't meant to come stumbling up the steep incline. The heavens had open very suddenly, releasing a vicious torrent of flood water upon the inhabitants of the island. Val despised rain deeply, no it was much better for the land to dry up like one big desert. The drier it was the more chance of a decent forest fire, pah there was no chance of that now. She snorted under her breath in fury, it had been so terribly long since she had felt the flames lick her hooves, feeding her menacing addiction to the burning pain and heat. The darkness of the cave hid her several hideous scars that decorated her lower limbs and underbelly.
In her desperate attempt to flee from the harsh rain drops, the dappled jezebel spotted the overhang high up the pathway. Having spent the tedious, strenuous time to climb upwards Valentine had discovered the small crumbling opening and took the plunge into the darkness. Unfortunately there had been a steep drop within the first few steps, and Val had lost her footing almost immediately. Now she was hopelessly lost in the twists and turns of the deep cave, with nothing but the sound of thudding hooves to keep her company.
Finally the dapple grey found the narrow path opening up into a circular cavern with an open topped ceiling. To Val's relief, the rain had stopped and so it would be alright to leave this horrible place. Where the rain had steadily worn over the rock floor over the many years. it had left a small dip and therefore a pool of water. Snorting thankfully, Valentine hurried over to the clear water and lowered her muzzle. Now, how to get out?

[style=width:500px; height: 482px; background: url(http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t449/Roman22510/samheader.png)] It seemed that places like this had always peeked Hain's interest. Its narrow rocky paths always seemed to crumble beneath ones hooves as they traveled them. Though with careful steps he had maneuvered this place multiple times. Though now that he had succumbed to partial blindness, it started to appear to be a difficult task. Now instead of hovering over the rocky face like he used to with his head held high and his hooves doing the work. Though now he traveled with his head lowered balancing his body against the stone walls, taking slow careful steps. Though with a limp it was kind of hard to not misplace a hoof every once in awhile. With a gruff huff he came to an abrupt stop for the toe of his right front hoof reached then end of a pathway. Lowering his head to the ground he inhaled deeply taking in the dank air of the cavern below. Its musky Oder was something that never left his memory. Standing still now he let the earth speak to him, feeling for any misplaced vibrations and soon enough they came to him.
Pausing his breath he stiffened his legs, taking every note of vibration that came to him, a pattern of four. One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four. It was the rhythm of an equine walking, echoing off the stone floor. Inhaling he took in the scent of the caves again, though this time the slightly sweet smell of a mare wavered into his nose. Lowering his shoulders as if he were to lay down, Hain thought hard on where the rock face lowered enough to where there would be a smoothed water path that one could take. Closing his eyes he traced over a mental map before lowering a fore limb. Finding the ledge he sought for a good grasp on the stone, with rough hooves he found solace on the rock face. Slowly he made his way down, slipping here and there though quickly he regained himself as he reached the caverns bare floors. Looking up with milky eyes he looked over the shining blobbed walls that surrounded him. Though soon enough the vibrations from the other grew closer and with this he watched in the direction of the other, a small lithe frame deep in grey. Had appeared out of the darkness, and as she had he disappeared against the stone wall taking to the shadow's for refuge before speaking. "Hello dear, and how did you manage to get lost within these barren caves?" His voice was deep and raspy like that of an old man. Smirking he remained hidden.
