PHYSICAL. Nerius is of delicate breeding, with just under twenty-five percent blood of the desert horse he has a certain lightness added to his Friesian heritage that allows him to move with incredible grace. He is as black as the night sky and speckled with just as many stars (birdcatcher spots) with two light grey eyes in place to give that extra sharpness to his appearance. The stallion stands at an even sixteen hands in height and weighs a well-toned one-thousand and fifty pounds. He is fit and healthy for the age of four, lined with muscle that he has carefully grown since the tender age of understanding what it meant to be strong in such a world.
Aside from his astral appearance, Nerius has several marks that set him aside from other equines. Across his nose, starting at the tip of his right cheekbone runs an angry red line that cuts into the fold of his left nostril. Another scar lingers just above his knee on his left foreleg, and a good chunk portion of his left ear has been removed. Only four and at the beginning of his prime, Nerius has experienced his fair share of scuffles, yet he has gained valuable experience.

PERSONALITY. Nerius, having grown up with two brothers and being the youngest, was often overshadowed by his siblings. As a child he was smaller and more timid than Archer and Belenos, earning his father's dislike. It wasn't until the age of two that his personality began to shine and portray itself; he was easy to anger and entice, giving him the temper of a snake and with his cunning and strength he was as dangerous as one, too. Often times, though, his pride was his downfall as it lead him to tasks he was not yet ready to accomplish. It was through luck and smart thinking that he made it to an age where he had enough control to avoid disaster.
If nothing else, a redeeming quality for Nerius is his loyalty - once backing someone he is committed. For those who cross him, though, he isn't above seeking sweet revenge.
Having grown up the smallest and youngest of three sons, Nerius was often frowned upon by his father and received harsher criticism that his siblings. Nerius believes that his father's coldness helped build him into the horse he is today, though it has given him a sharp, cold edge that his mother, Nymeria, had often expressed her worries over. His greatest wish, though, is to find the horse or wolf that lead to his mother's death - a fire that took her and nearly left him for dead (to this day fire invokes a terrible fear in the stallion).
Beyond just his innerworkings, Nerius finds his peace in nature. His favorite time is at night when the moon and stars are out, he looks to them often and wonders how it is that he came to resemble something so vast. Cool weather and rain are things that ease his mind, especially chilly nights when the wind blows and carries wolfsong on it's breath. Day that are hot and or humid put him in a foul mood, as he hates weather that makes him sticky with sweat to attract flies.
In his lifetime, Nerius hopes to make an immortal name for himself.

HISTORY. His father's youngest son and most loathed, Nerius grew up small and timid beside his brother's Archer and Belenos. Of the three children his parents prouced, Nerius was the only one to remain by his mother's side well after his time of independence had arrived, and it took harsh words and lessons from his father to fledge the young colt. From a young age Acheron worked tirelessly to mold his son into something more than coward, pushing Nerius relentlessly to do better. This created a wrath in the colt, making him as quick to anger as a snake and just as deadly as one when he put his strength behind his anger.
He grew smart and cunning, but even though he had grown and matured into something much different than his parents had anticipated, he still stood in the shadows of his older brother's. Now he was impatient, prideful, and easy to intimidate - much to headstrong to think simple matters through, and in possession of a darkness that Acheron insisted would one day be his downfall.
When it was his time to depart from the herd and begin his own life, make his own decisions, he had lost his mother to swift and hungry fire that nearly took his own life. Nerius had seen the culprit responsible for the fire, just in an small instant, and will search for the stallion to exact revenge. Acheron, on the other hand, laid blame on his son and forced him from the herd in no subtle manner.
Considered the black sheep of the family, Nerius began to roam the lands in search of a way to make a name for himself (to show his father he wasn't a waste of flesh), coupled with a burning vengeance to find and make pay the equine that say to his mother's death. At first it was all bravado, showing off his feathers per se, rooting out the toughest and showing any bachelor what he was made of. Through his pride Nerius discovered that there were two directions to go, and only one was up.
At the end of his third year, while located in a band of homeless bastards such as himself, the colt became all too aware of the dangers in the world - that he wasn't the biggest, baddest thing around. An encounter with an irritable, one-thousand pound male grizzly. In the skirmish Nerius was beyond lucky to escape with just a scar across his face; his pride is now somewhat in check after such an experience, he doesn't often look for as much trouble, and his opponents are chosen with a little more thought.
