PHYSICAL. From his father’s side Earos inherited his gargantuan size, keen sense of smell & charming ways. From his mother, he took her agility, speed and stamina. These things combined together created a tall, handsome, yet somehow feline wolf – thanks to the build of his dam. Since birth Earos has had an intense love of climbing & exploring difficult to reach places, causing his muscles to grow lean instead of bulky, granting him swiftness and flexibility. With high set shoulder blades, clean legs and a sharp muzzle, Earos is rather streamlined for a canine. His sleek coat only adds to his appearance; giving off an almost metallic shine. As for the color of his pelt , well, that was a mystery until two years ago. At birth Earos sported a fair, almost snowy color. Over time, he started to develop his markings, and his coat darkened slightly – leaving him primarily grey. His legs, however, remained white – as did the area around his heterochromic eyes. One blue and one forest green. His muzzle and cheeks are also a lighter shade than the rest of him, adding definition to his face and coal black nose.
Since Earos has never been the kind to enjoy fighting, he has very few scars. The one that he does have though is quite a zinger. It runs from the corner of his right front paw and twists around to just above his ankle. His fur has never grown back over that area – leaving a thick grey line where it should have been. Other than that and his bi-colored eye, the only other distinctive marking that Earos has is the thick band like formation of almost black fur that surrounds his neck. Along his back more darker parts appear, but they blend almost seamlessly with the rest of him.

PERSONALITY. Since birth Earos has always been in love with the world. Nature excites him in a way that few other things can. He delights in the small things, like a blossoming flower, the scent of the rain, and the lulling sound of the ocean. This probably stems from his belief that everything contains something amazing, something beautiful. Even the nastiest of things deserve to be looked at until their light comes through. Optimism has always been a strong part of this wolf’s persona, along with humility, kindness and his gentle ways.
Earos can get along with almost anyone. He was raised to treat others as he would like to be treated, and he lives by that still. Some say that he doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body, and they’re probably right. The brute can hardly hurt a fly. But don’t get him wrong – he can be defensive when the correct time arises. Defending those he cares for fiercely, but always trying to avoid conflict.
There is a kind of poetic nature about him – stemming from his way with words and his love of almost everything. Yes, he idealizes many things and romanticizes way too many ideas, but only with the best of intentions. He truly does believe in the goodness of all things living, and can hardly understand those who choose darker paths.
Thanks to his mother, he can be a little wary and sometimes untrusting of pretty females. But once he is shown that there is nothing to worry about, he will warm up in an instant. Known to be quite the charmer, Earos loves female company. Any company at that. Socializing is among a few of his favorite things – as well as running, exploring and bathing in moonlight. There is something about the moon that brings out the best in Earos.
Though he does try to avoid it – when conflict breaks out, he won’t run. He’ll try to reason. And if that doesn’t work he’ll defend himself until the attacker grows tired of dancing with him. Violence is always the last resort for him, and if he knows he’s in the wrong, he will always almost turn the other cheek.
HISTORY
MOTHER. Scarlet, living.
FATHER. Khaz, deceased.
SIBLINGS. Messo, living.
Lilith, living.
HISTORY. He couldn't have asked for a better family.
It was evident to Earos from a very early age that his sire loved his mother with a fierce, burning passion. Of course, he loved his three pups as well, but not in the same way that he loved Scarlet. She was his beginning, and before their offspring had even turned two, she was his end.
Before the drama began though, all was perfect. The five of them were like a fairytale family. Earos, Messo and Lilith lacked nothing in their upbringing. Khaz taught them all the ways of the earth and the water and the skies, providing them with a wealth of knowledge that some could only dream of. Earos immediately fell deeply in love with nature - exploring every nook and crevice that he could find. Messo found his delights in hunting. And Lilith... Well, she showed little interest in anything - only leaving her mother when she absolutely had to. Scarlet and her daughter were like mirror images. Both of them were pale white, and both were images of complete beauty. But there was a darkness in Lilith. A darkness that her mother was better at hiding than she was.
It was a raining the day the fight broke out. Earos was deep in the forest observing a pair of monarch butterflies when he heard the sounds of violence. Racing back to the pack, he was shocked to find his mother standing over the dead Alphess. Her white coat was stained crimson, and she bore a cruel smile. A few feet away, the alpha stood with his eyes locked on Scarlet, the same horrid grin stuck on his face.
"I'm proud of you my love." Ra, the alpha, came towards Earos's mother and admired her bloody frame.
It was at that exact moment when Khaz arrived, short of breath from the long run. His confused expression only lasted for a few brief seconds, until he heard Ra's words to his mate. Then the realization dawned and his face fell in disbelief. He lunged for the other male's throat - but something fast and white met him midair, throwing him to the ground. Even Earos was shocked to see Lilith standing over his father.
"She never loved you!" She snarled, squaring herself between her father and mother.
"Is this true?" Khaz lifted himself off the ground, looking past Lilith at Scarlet. His strong voice trembled with fear and emotion. "Scar?"
As if he was a simple insect that no longer amused her, Scarlet rolled her eyes. "You will never be half the wolf that Ra is. You will never bring me power and respect. I want nothing more to do with you. Be gone!" The last bit came out as a terrible growl that echoed in Earos's ribcage. All he could do was stand there and stare. Years later he would come to regret this. He would regret not running to his father's side. That day was Khaz's last. After seeing the cruelty and emptiness in Scarlet that he had never seen before, he threw himself into the white rapids of the river, and he didn't even fight. His body was smashed like a ragdoll against the jagged rocks. The water ran red behind him. Earos saw all of it as he sprinted along the riverside, calling out to his father and begging him to swim. But Khaz was dead, possibly even before he had leaped into the water. Earos learned the hard way that a broken heart can maim even the strongest of wolves.
As it turns out, Lilith had known for months about their mothers betrayal. She was thrilled by the idea of being the daughter of an alpha pair. The whole thing had been planned. Down to the very last blade of grass.
After that, there was no way Earos could stay. The sight of his mother and his sister made him sick. He left his homeland and the terrible memories behind. Messo left a few months after him, but the two never intercepted. And it was probably for the best. Earos had blocked that part of him out. He was alone now. And there was no such thing as family.
