PHYSICAL. The mare in question is a generally short creature, barely topping 14.3 hands and weighing in at around 1,000 pounds. A long, streamlined head sits upon an equally thin neck, giving the sturdy bulk the unfitting illusion of frail. Relatively short legs stretch from a body of average bulk, back limbs propping her croup equal with her withers. Her graceful countenance is framed solidly by cobalt hair, waterfalls of navy cascading from her dock. Slightly-mottled fur is accented by dark points, and her muzzle made ashen by cerulean slate. Gentle hues of azure flood her expressive pools set firmly under shallow brows lacking critical appearance. A jagged, sensitive scar stretches from her abdomen to between her front legs, the narrowed end poking into the vicinities of her chest. This run of maimed flesh protrudes hideously from her smooth skin, easily detectable to the touch. Its bears a pink hue desaturated slightly by touches of grey, but the latter trait does not keep it from being sore on the eyes. It can only be seen in its entirety when on her back (for whatever reason) or when she lifts her body in a rear, but otherwise its end can only be seen. Her left eye is clouded over, speared by a long scar smoky with age that stretches from the left side of her forehead to her cheek, a line of maimed tissue present on the direct center of her eyeball.

PERSONALITY. For a mare that uses little words herself, describing her with many is surprisingly easy.
- QUIET UPON SIGHT.
When it comes to strangers, Alixra is very quiet unless she has deciphered the intentions of her company to be positive. May it be the opposite of such and turn out to be negative or malicious, she will deal with it how she sees fit, which can vary from walking away to asking them who the hell they are or what they think they’re doing—but in as little words as possible. She generally tends to avoid being involved with those that are bitter at heart unless she can gain some sort of amusement from it, or teach someone something about their behavior or educate them in why they act the way they do. Because of this, she often comes across as a bit of a know-it-all, though she tries not to push herself upon others too much.- FIERY UPON JUDGEMENT.
As soon as she has deciphered your affiliation or intentions, she is quite the character—most of the time. Her reactions to meeting others can be best explained by pyramid horizontally split about 1/4th from the top. At the bottom is an array of responses including introductions and other friendly gestures. At the top is a quiet, solemn, calculating individual that can be quite ominous. If you are to take a closer look at the upper triangle, you’ll find that it is split in half by a vertical line that separates plain mean and cruel from severely wary and scared. Be warned, though, that if she recognizes you from past experiences that are negative, she will not even begin to hesitate to become plain mean unless you have done something to strike fear into her heart.- BRAVE WHEN SET TO JUSTICE.
If she sees someone doing harm to another for unfair or unknown reasons, she won’t hesitate to step in and protect a minority. Her opinions are often swayed by extended doses of pity and always swayed by solid, undeniable fact, so any affiliation in a minor squabble can be changed with one (or both) of these two ingredients, though the first takes much longer to click in her mind.- TO-THE-POINT.
For all of her more passionate, outspoken traits, she does speak quite strangely at times. Unless the occasion calls for otherwise, she tends to be very blunt in speaking. She won’t beat around the bush or sugar-coat things, which can sometimes make her come across as harsh. Alixra is much gentler with foals, though, and tries not to hurt their feelings.- REGRETFUL.
If she brings harm upon another without them deserving it, she becomes very regretful of her actions and quite remorseful, and will do a lot to make it up to them. Her thoughtfulness and shrouded insecurity leads her to being conscious of what others think of her, and she tries not to be on bad standings with others for good reason.- TRUSTWORTHY.
You will never regret putting trust into this mare, as if you make it clear that you believe in her and your relationship with her, she will never betray you. This makes her vulnerable to her own betrayal, but do keep in mind that she wasn’t born yesterday and that her self-consciousness makes her more observant than most. She is an amazing keeper of secrets, and will never betray information without permission except for the greater good.- FIRST-IMPRESSION BASED.
Your first impression will leave just than on Alixra—and impression. It will be hard to overcome the disdain she shall hold for you if you if you make a negative impact on her, but lucky for most, she’s hard to anger. Alixra has an impressive amount of solid patience for such a potentially shifty individual.- PUSHOVER.
When it comes to those that she loves, this blue dun is a major pushover. She finds it hard to be mad at friends or those that she seeks the approval of, and will often allow them to get away with much, much more than she would allow for others. Those that are close to her will quickly find that they can hardly do anything to ever bother or upset her.- COMPLICATED.
In case you have not deciphered this yet, Alixra can be quite complicated. She is prone to mood swings at times, though she tries her best to control and restrain them. Interrogations of her past lead to negative and possibly even fearful or crazed reactions, and she does everything she can to avoid the subject. In fact, to stray from the topic, she often purposely tries to appear shallow and uninteresting so others will leave her alone. Overall, Alixra is probably one of the most frustrating individuals you shall ever meet.

HISTORY.
The night in which Alixra was born was not a pleasant one. Storms rolled and toiled in the skies and ear-splitting thunder shook the earth with force seemingly rivaling the magnitude of shifting tectonics. The cave in which her laboring mother lay quivered with the force of the storm, all peace within the refuge destroyed by the screaming wind that made the mountain seem to quake and shudder with fear.
She was expelled from the womb of a dying figure and into a world terrifying in comparison to her small chamber in which she had resided in for what seemed like such a long time. Bleating and crying out, she sought nourishment from her mother, but the withering creature had little to give. She clung close to her mother, remaining close and relishing her with the love of a daughter fearful with the prospect of losing the only thing she had. The storm, fed by the sweltering heat during the day making war with the cool breeze blowing from the north, raged every night, razing across the slopes of Tenebris with ferocious intensity. On the fourth night, as she sought comfort in the presence of her aged mother, her mottled pelt was met with cold fur instead of a familiar warmth. Too young to understand death, she nudged the underbelly of her deceased parent, hoping that suckling would rouse her from her slumber and give her cause to rise. But her mouth found that it would have to live with the lack of moisture assaulting her tongue, and her heart found that nothing could make her mother stir.
On the fifth night came the stranger into the cave, taking refuge from the tempest that quelled outside. He was greeted first by the stench of a carcass slipping into the more foul-smelling stages of decomposition, and second by the sight of a foal quivering at the body’s neck. As it turned out, the stranger was not a stranger at all but her own father, who had been searching for quite a long time for his missing mate, who had been separated from him months ago by a mountain landslide that had sent him tumbling into what was believed to be oblivion. Survival had been on his side, though, and instead of sharp rocks he was met by a giant lake. The chasm closed permanently a couple of days after he had emerged, and he had spent the time since then wandering.
Puron was distressed by the death of his mate. He too was growing older and had barely escaped his own death. He took the steadily weakening foal from the mountain’s grasp and to the gentle embrace of Tueri. It was here that he found a mare to nurse the filly, and both realized that the young being did not yet have a name. The decided upon one, and dubbed her Alixra.
Unfortunately, this is not a tale of a happy foal whose mind forced out the tragic event of her mother’s death and grew to adulthood normally and gently. Instead of releasing her from the shackles of her traumatic experience, it grounded Alixra to sorrow, confusion, and a kindling hate for the world around her. She became bitter and spiteful, lashing out at everyone and everything. She placed heavy blame upon her father for her mother’s death, for not having found them in the first place. As Puron grew attached the mare that was nursing Alixra, she also grew jealous of her father’s attentions. He was frustrated by his daughter’s negative attitude, and handled it by shutting her out more than he should have. By the time she was eight months old, her simple spiteful words transformed into violent displays of aggression. Her jealousy escalated, and then peaked, as she learned of her surrogate mother’s new pregnancy. She became something akin to a monster, cornering the femme in the depths of the forest several months after the announcement. The fae was of a kind, gentle nature, and was too much of a submissive character to fight back as Alixra beat her.
She did not kill the mare, but in her rage she did harm her enough to traumatize her with the birth of a stillborn foal sometime later. She had blamed her wounds on a predator, too scared of the seemingly demon-possessed foal to expose her treachery to her father. He had his suspicions, though, and kept a careful eye on his offspring, whose demeanor and attitude seemed to find no limits to its downward-spiraling cruelty. A couple of weeks after the miscarriage, her father’s mate confessed and then exposed herself to an overwhelmingly large dose of toxic from a small family of poison dart frogs she had earlier herded nearby. She died within the minute, and Puron became furious.
He was done with the simple verbal chidings and pushing her way. This time he sought her out, and did unto her what she did to his mate. It was hardly a battle—the stallion was much stronger than the new yearling, and in the end he threw her onto her back and carved a gash into the stomach of his daughter that stretched from the base of her chest down to her lower abdomen. He also abandoned her with the wound that resulted in her left eye being completely blind. He disappeared, leaving her to die.
By the next day he was regretting simply ditching her as he had. He had done it simply out of pure anger, and had truly believed that she deserved it. He realized that she was the only remaining link to her mother… the only remaining link to his beloved first mate, the one he had stumbled upon the body of in the death-filled cave with the innocent foal clinging to her neck. As he headed back to the depths of the forest, where he had left her, he was afraid that he would find her body. Instead, he found nothing but a wide trail of blood disappearing into the underbrush, and assumed that a jaguar or other large cat had dragged her off. He departed from the forest and was never seen again, too lost in his grief to follow the trail.
As it turned out, Alixra was, in fact, dragged away by a jaguar while unconscious. She was being taken back to the big cat’s offspring so that they could know what it felt like to kill large prey, but she roused herself from her slumber half way to their den. She managed to catch the creature by surprise and break its jaw with a powerful kick, and then flee.
It took her months to recover completely from the wounds, but was still left with a horrendous scar and the blindness that plagued her left eye. She had finally been put in her place, and the half-blind creature worked to improve her attitude. Despite her efforts, she still fostered a bitter side that was unleashed when irritated even at the slightest. It took about a year and a half to overcome this, and during this time she built her patience up to the level of a saint, though certain things still irked her. Eager to correct her past, she began to construct a love for foals, her mind having been constantly weighed down by the guilt of killing what could have been her half sister or brother since her ‘attitude correction’.
Alixra became selfless, regretting her past and hiding it from others. She took refuge elsewhere. She has no fear of the diseased or the disease itself and is in fact a bit interested in contracting it. Gotta love stupid young people.
